Allama Iqbal class

Allama Muhammad Iqbal is a renowned poet-philosopher of Pakistan, who is credited with the vision of Pakistan. His poetry is steeped in Quranic concepts and at times are actual translations of Quranic verses. Allama Iqbal‘s poetry is inspiring and motivational and every Sunday we leave our class cheered and energized. Dr. Farooq Afridi and Dr. Mahjabeen Islam present their understanding of the very profound poetry of Allama Iqbal. Dr. Afridi has been a lifelong student of Allama Iqbal‘s work and Dr. Islam has a great interest in the Urdu language. All attendees really enjoy the class. One of them recently said ” I feel so fortunate to have found this class. I think I am addicted to it!” The class is from 10:30am to 11:20 am every Sunday, held in person at the ICGT library and also on Zoom.

Quran Study class

Muslims are urged to learn to read the Quran and also to understand it. The Quran Study class focuses on the Arabic of the Quran. We first listen to the recitation of the Quran on Quran Hive and then each word is explained, and then the verse is discussed in detail, both its language and the meaning. Our teacher, Dr. Abdel-Wahab Soliman Ph.D. is hafizul-Quran, which means that he has memorized the Quran. This hifz and Dr. Soliman being a native Arabic speaker make our classes very illuminating. The Quran Study class is from 11:30am to 12:20pm and is also held at the ICGT library every Sunday and is also on Zoom.
