Executive Director

The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo is seeking an Executive Director to ensure that the Center can successfully fulfill its mission through strategic priorities, operationalizing the Center’s council and volunteer base, and overseeing long-term projects. This role will work in collaboration with Councilmembers to assist in day-to-day operations. 

This position will report directly to the Council President. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Imam and ICGT Council to develop and implement programming, special projects, and events
  • Oversee the Center’s day-to-day operations
  • Seek new fundraising opportunities
  • Implement communications strategies 
  • Serve as a liaison between the Center and the Foundation of the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo

Qualifications 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or MBA in business, marketing, or related field
  • At least 3 years of prior nonprofit organization experience required  
  • Solid knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial management, and marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Extensive experience in public speaking/public relations 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office and WordPress; familiarity with design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Spark) 
  • Have a strong understanding of media relations and digital media strategies 
  • Proven track record of success in a leadership position overseeing operations of an organization or program with exposure to foundations, while maintaining solid relationships with staff, board, donors, and community.

Operations Assistant 

The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo is seeking an Operations Assistant with a passion for digital content creation and marketing. The Operations Assistant is a self-motivated and hardworking individual with the ability to juggle multiple tasks. This role will serve as essential to our Imam and Councilmembers, working closely with them to assist in day-to-day operations. This position will report directly to the Executive Director. 

Responsibilities

  • Designing promotional flyers and graphics for social media and web content
  • Maintaining and updating social media pages and website 
  • Assisting in event logistics such as Jumu’ah preparation 
  • Overseeing administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing correspondence 
  • Consistently collecting and assessing data across digital platforms for monthly programming
  • Helping to implement communications strategies 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field  
  • At least a year of prior communications and/or administrative experience required  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Spark) 
  • Possess a strong eye for typography and layout in design and be able to create a variety of different graphics from scratch
  • Have a strong understanding of media relations and digital media strategies 
  • Willingness to experiment, learn and execute a wide range of design techniques

Bonus Skills 

  • Skilled in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Photography and video experience
